The Beacon Experience is in partnership with the well-known, “I Have a Dream” Foundation, which essentially aims at encouraging and stimulating students to continue their education beyond high school.
Our Foundation also has this vision and intention. It proposes to identify and work with a group of selected students throughout their schooling so that they can become not only educationally successful while in school, but also motivated to further their studies beyond the primary and secondary level. It is the intent of the Beacon Experience to help and work within the educational context so that each child develops to his/her fullest potential – educationally, intellectually, socially and emotionally. In short, the Foundation’s aim is two- fold: one to promote education to its fullest extent so that each child graduates successfully from high school, and second, to facilitate education beyond high school by granting each child with a paid scholarship to a university or vocational school.

The Beacon Experience Foundation facilitates and promotes education beyond the high school spectrum through a long-term program of academic and
social activities, mentoring and enrichment for 'qualified' children.

Sixty-one South Miami children, ages 6-8, participate in The Beacon Experience’s year-round educational enrichment program.

In a school where 77% of enrolled students are eligible for free lunch (well above the 47% Florida State average) and where over 90% of students are from families with no college education, The Beacon Experience is a necessity in order to provide proper education and mentoring to empower and enrich the lives of today’s youth.
