Organization Overview
About Us
Cares for Kids is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving less fortunate children around the world with the essential means to fulfill healthy, happy and educated lives. Cares for Kids main mission is to assist in the development of orphaned children overseas, who typically suffer from emotional, physical, mental, and/or financial needs. Nearly all orphanages have very limited available resources to operate and receive little help from their government. Without assistance, it is nearly impossible for these communities to afford the equipment, facilities, materials, and monetary support needed to administer an orphanage. That is where Cares for Kids steps in. We make every effort possible to improve the lives of children directly or indirectly at anytime, anywhere. We also dedicate our services to deserving causes that benefit the lives of children right here in the United States. If we receive donations which are unable or impractical to be used towards orphaned children overseas, then provide them to these U.S. based organizations as well.
Who We Are
Cares for Kids, Inc. collects monetary donations, goods, and services, and distributes them to under privileged orphans throughout the world.
Our Organization's Mission
Cares for Kids, Inc. exists to provide less fortunate children around the world with the fundamentals they need to live a healthy and happy life. Different orphanages have different needs and we fulfill those needs as best as possible with the help of partners, sponsors, and donors. We will assist any child, with any need, any time, anywhere. We stand with open arms to all.
Who We Serve
We serve disadvantaged youth, both in orphanages overseas and in U.S. Children's and Guardian's Homes. Our services have helped children in Jamaica, Africa, Latin America, Europe and in the United States. If there are children in need anywhere we will assist them.
Our Programs
Through our programs, "Global Giving" and "Helping Hands," we are able to collect and distribute both donations and services to less fortunate children. We provide these gifts either directly to less fortunate children, or to the facilities and caregivers who support them. "Global Giving" operates on an international scale, where as "Helping Hands" focuses its operation solely within the U.S. "Helping Hands" also promotes child advocacy within the community by hosting and/or supporting local causes that benefit children.
"Recycle for Kids" is a program that collects recyclable materials (used ink cartridges, cell phones, etc.) and recycles them to help fund the operations of Cares for Kids, Inc.
Our "Gift of Giving" program provides individuals who wish to use their special occasions, such as birthdays, holidays, weddings, etc. as a wonderful opportunity to donate to Cares for Kids. Instead of receiving traditional gifts on these occasions, family and friends are urged to donate directly to the Cares for Kids "Gift if Giving" program. Participants of this program will be provided with necessary resources to promote their project. Resources may include but are not limited to customized web pages, flyers, and bracelets.

What Sets Us Apart
Cares for Kids direction comes from hands-on and heart-felt experiences. In December of 2000 Mr. & Mrs. Ballantini, Cares for Kids founders, adopted a nine month old baby boy from Ust-Kamenogorsk, Kazakhstan. After seeing the living conditions of the babies and toddlers, they had a strong desire to improve the lives of orphaned children in the world. Cares for Kids founders' realized a need for fundamental resources and in 2004 Cares for Kids was created.
Objectives for This Fiscal Year
Identify and establish relationships with overseas liaisons who, in keeping in contact with their local orphanage directors, will inform us of the orphanages in need. These liaisons will also assist us in our travels to their country through language translation and tourism.
Recent Accomplishments
Within the last year Cares for Kids has served an estimated 255,000 children. We have managed this without incurring administrative costs and without the aid of federal, state, local or private donor grants.

Collaboration
People We Would Like to Collaborate With
We would like to collaborate with individuals, businesses and organizations dedicated to serving the needs of children in the world that most of us take for granted. Team up with those that support and create volunteerism in our communities, nationally and internationally. Everyone has a purpose to fulfill and that does not always mean supporting our own causes, but if we all come together for the greater good of helping others and take the time to connect the impact would be phenomenal.
Projects We Would Like to Collaborate on
We would like to work on projects fostering growth in countries devoid of arts, education and hope. If we can help to create a fair playing ground for future generations everywhere, as a whole we have done what we set out for.
Other Nonprofits We Would Like to Collaborate With
In the spirit of collaboration we support all organizations striving to create unity. Including other organizations with diverse goals and ideas to has the ability to produce clever and unique goals. Having more resources and organizations to partner with only intensifies our like opportunities. Linking various nonprofits with different missions has the potential to enhance and create new distinct programs.
Projects We Need Help On
Distribution of items on an international scale is sometimes quite vexing and costly. There is always room for help and collaboration on finding new ingenious ways to distribute donations overseas.
Skills We Would Like to Share
We can best share how to make the most of a limited operating budget. Even a small organization can make a big impact with the help of community leaders and volunteers. Cares for Kids has learned to exist on the bare minimum so that we can maximize output to our beneficiaries.
Skills We Would Like to Learn
We would like to learn about solid fundraising techniques, volunteer optimization and available ditribution programs. Marketing our message of hope and caring is very important and enhancing those skills will help to brighten our opportunites.
Ideas We would Like to Share
The world is a vast landscape with varying degrees of survival, especially for the children in this world. Not every child is safe, fed, cared for or loved. We would like the opportunity to open the eyes of new volunteers and donors.
