About Us
The Cancer Schmancer Foundation's President and Visionary, Fran Drescher, has impacted the lives of thousands of women with her story of cancer survival by utilizing her personal experience to urge all women to take control of their bodies, learn about the early warning whispers, become better partners with their physicians, and transform from patients into medical consumers.
The Cancer Schmancer Foundation focuses on educating women on the risk factors and early warning signs of cancer, and the tests that help detect cancer in its earliest stages. The foundation has reached millions of women through national and local press, including interviews with Fran Drescher on The View, the Today Show, and Rachael Ray, raising awareness for the importance of Stage 1 diagnosis.
While most national not-for-profit organizations in the cancer health care community focus on research and cures, or on providing support to cancer survivors and their families, the Cancer Schmancer Foundation is the first and only organization to focus specifically on ensuring early detection of cancer. The foundation's mission and programs are distinct because they shift the focus from finding a cure tomorrow to saving lives of women with cancer today.

What Sets Us Apart
In the United States, cancer affects more than 11 million individuals and their families each year. According to the National Center for Charitable Statistics, there are 2,412 registered nonprofit organizations in the United States focused on cancer initiatives. Most of these organizations focus on funding research to find cures for cancer while others advocate for and offer support services to women with cancer, but no organization other than the Cancer Schmancer Foundation focuses specifically on early detection of cancer.
Therefore, Fran Drescher launched the Cancer Schmancer Foundation to fill this void, focusing exclusively on education and advocacy to ensure that all women with cancer are diagnosed in Stage 1, when it is most curable. The Cancer Schmancer Foundation's mission and programs are distinct because they shift the focus from finding a cure tomorrow to saving lives of women with cancer today.
