Who We Serve
Low income women and teenage ladies who are entering or re-entering the workplace,or who need life banance skills training.
Our Programs
Our programs transition women towards self-sufficiency by addressing their social and economic needs in relation to work, home and community.
Our Professional Women's Group encourages employment retention and career development by providing a safe environment for members to network with other women, build professional skills and learn how to advance in their jobs.
Leadership Profile
Myrna Brooks - PWG Coordinator:
With over 23 years’ experience as an exceptional customer service professional, Myrna is a dynamic and accomplished client services professional.
She is experienced in interpersonal, project management, organizational, administrative and presentation skills.
She’s passionate about leadership and training opportunities which are focused on helping others to achieve their full potential.
She founded (and is the CEO of), LifeWorks, International in 1987. As CEO, she has gained a wealth of public speaking experience and organizational skills. She is a past president of Connecticut Entrepreneurial Organization, an organization formed by entrepreneurs to network and grow their businesses and she enjoys speaking to all types of audiences.
As a graduate of the Connecticut Partners in Policymaking Program, she is an effective advocate for Americans with Disabilities. She advocates to and meets with elected legislative officials and through research, passion and commitment, aim to effect policy and law changes in her community, state and nation.
Prior to starting her own business, she worked in the Corporate World for three Fortune 500 Companies, where she was consistently recognized for outstanding customer service and top sales revenue. She was also the International representative for diversity, where she sought and presented avenues towards promoting mutual understanding of the diverse make-up of the Caribbean Culture as it relates to the profitability and success of the company, its employees and its customers.
