About Us
GlamourGals' local mission is to foster intergenerational relationships between teen girls and elderly women living in senior homes. We organize teen volunteers into chapters around the country to visit nursing homes at least once a month, providing the women with complimentary facials and makeovers.
Our vision is to end elder loneliness by creating compassionate teen leaders nationally through this local programming.
Who We Are
GlamourGals focuses on two critical issues facing America:
1. The growing isolation and loneliness of our elderly population, caused by demographic shifts and
institutionalization; and
2. The bias and disconnectedness of our teenage population, caused by negative imagery of the
elderly in our media and scarce opportunities for meaningful interactions between generations.
Our Organization's Mission
Our local mission is to foster intergenerational relationships between teen girls and elderly women living in senior homes through monthly facials and makeovers.
Our national mission is to create the structure and provide the resources that encourage compassionate teen leadership through local intergenerational programming.
Our Programs
GlamourGals is organized into chapters of high school teens, ages 14-18. Chapters are formed within their
schools either as new clubs or as a permanent service activities within existing clubs.
Each chapter is headed by a Chapter President and overseen by an adult advisor. The Chapter Presidents
are teens who recruit and retain volunteers, schedule makeovers, publicize events, hold fundraisers, and
attend leadership seminars. We encourage our volunteers to manage their chapters with a sense of local
ownership. All volunteers network together through both an online community and conference calls, as
well as in person trainings, meetings, and fundraisers hosted by the national office.

What Sets Us Apart
We are unique intergenerational nonprofit developing and connecting compassionate teen leaders with the elderly through a familiar and simple activity: facials
and makeovers.
Objectives for This Fiscal Year
Since January of 2000, the GlamourGals program has expanded, despite volunteer management operating with limited resources. This year we are bringing a strategic focus to our expansion, putting sustainable and scalable systems into place, producing additional programs, recognizing and rewarding our volunteers, as well as hiring the necessary staff to manage these operations.
These efficiencies will allow GlamourGals to have future consistency and success. We will continue to capture the press, and build strategic alliances with potential competitors.
We pledge to:
- Foster a movement of young women who are compassionate and mature
- Replicate existing GG programs as well as executing hip and relevant new ones
- Create a consistent look, memorable connection and evoke positive feelings from participants on both sides of the makeover table
- Team with other teen-centric organizations to reach volunteers efficiently
- Increase funding to allow volunteers nationwide to participate in national programming in NYC
- Build commitments for contributions at all levels of the organization
- reach out to national and local press outlets
- Build unique and customized relationships with external funding sources
Please join and support us in inspiring teenage talent to address the issues of elder care quality of life and help make our outreach to become one of the most recognized intergenerational programs for consistency and quality of service.
