  Causes The theme within all my cause work is FREEDOM: Freedom from abuse, neglect, and terror. Freedom from inequality, prejudice, and hate. Freedom from ignorance, disease and poverty. Nonprofits I Donate To I give a great deal of time, money and energies to various organizations - sometimes on a regular basis, sometimes per request for a special event. My favorites are ones that help animals, equality, children and women's well-being. Below are just a few that I work with consistently. Places I Volunteer At IN DEFENSE OF ANIMALS, Bark Avenue Foundation, Young Williams Animal Center, PAWS Atlanta, Humane Society of the United States, Reading for the Blind & Dyslexic, Book Pals & Read Across America, The Blank's Young Playwrights Festival, and What a Pair Other Ways I Make a Difference in The World ON-LINE ACTIVISM is an easy way to make a difference. I have signed up to receive numerous notices from various organizations around the world, and almost daily I take some action with just a few clicks on my keyboard. It give me a great sense of empowerment.
The next way I make a difference is with THE POWER OF MY DOLLAR. I do everything I can to make sure I am buying humane products, and staying away from individuals and companies who harm animals, people and the environment. The National Anti-Vivisection Society (www.navs.org) is a wonderful resource to check who's-who among humane companies. Other Ways I Would Like to Make a Difference I would love to be a political figure on behalf of animals. How does "Ambassador Hendrix" sound?! People I Would Like to Collaborate With The kind of people I want to collaborate with are Positive, effective, successful people who have integrity, ethics, compassion, and something to say. I like to be around other action-oriented people who understand the that life is circular, i.e. what goes around comes around. Projects I Would Like to Collaborate On The kind of projects I want to collaborate on involve generating a higher level of HUMANE EDUCATION (on behalf of animals and humans alike.) I am presently spearheading a new anti-fur campaign "Think Again" for IN DEFENSE OF ANIMALS, set to launch summer '08. I am an action-oriented person who loves to get "involved". Being on the front-lines getting my hands dirty excites me most. Projects I Need Help With Saving the lives of millions of animals world-wide who are being abused, neglected, tortured and killed every day.
