About Us
An official 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation, Watering Seeds Organization (WSO) was initially created in 2005 to provide recreational and athletic opportunities for physically challenged individuals as well as Wounded Warriors returning home from active duty. Through meaningful partnerships and special events, WSO raises awareness and funding by private donations and corporate sponsorships to provide education, training, and necessary adaptive equipment to help these challenged individuals lead healthier, more active and productive lifestyles.
Who We Are
The name was created on the spiritual principle, "it is in giving, we receive...You reap what you sow!” In order for a planted seed to grow, it must be nurtured and watered. Watering that seed symbolizes the time and energy it takes in order for it to take root and produce fruit. It represents the power of God's love through His kingdom. "I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow." (I Corinthians 3:6) One person can start a positive "change" reaction that impacts thousands of lives by "watering seeds" of hope and encouragement in a time of need, just like a little water in the summer can provide for a garden full of flowers. By watering one seed at a time, we are empowering lives one by one to fight the "good fight of faith!"
Society can physically knock us down on the outside, but we must get back up on the inside. With a perseverant spirit and a "can do" attitude, we can learn to grow and bear fruit in the midst of adversities. Strength and character are built during these tough times, and this, ultimately, is what our unsung war heroes exemplify. With courage and fortitude, we can live a fulfilled life of victory and excellence. This is the challenging message of the Watering Seeds Organization.
Our Organization's Mission
As we all know, life is unpredictable. From birth defects, to automotive and horseback riding accidents, to disease, lives are altered daily without discrimination. Young and old, men and women of all races, religions, cultures, and creeds have their lives changed in mere seconds.
In acknowledging the increasing number of amputees returning from the war overseas, WSO recognizes the importance of addressing and promoting the independence and rehabilitation of our wounded warriors. Our wounded warriors who once enjoyed the benefits of athletics have that opportunity once again! We at WSO are working diligently to help our injured service men and women lead healthy, active and productive lifestyles. Consequently, this fruitful lifestyle change brings hope and new meaning to one’s life after a disability.
Moreover, our grand initiative is to develop the Watering Seeds Sports Rehabilitation Center, a world-class Paralympic training facility with athletic amenities and a rehabilitation clinic that will foster a community for wounded warriors and physically challenged individuals. With our architectural design already completed by Fellows Ink, we are currently researching areas throughout America for the best possible location (TBA). Modeled after the Lake Placid Olympic Village, the center will provide housing at no cost to financially challenged families while visiting their family members participating in the program. In addition to providing a location for education and training, the complex will also provide an opportunity to meet, interact, and associate with other challenged athletes from around the world. Whether at work or play, we have no bounds for our center, and spare no expense in the rehabilitation process.
From sports wheelchairs and prosthetics, to a multi-million dollar Paralympic training facility, our inevitable goal is to ensure that each and every individual afflicted with a physical disability is aware that we exist to help them at any time!
