Our wish is to provide custom-fitted pressure garments and face masks for children and teens with severe burn injuries at our four hospitals specializing in burns. These tight-fitting garments and plastic face masks use constant pressure on healing wounds to reduce scarring, and often lessen the need for surgery. The garments and masks are custom made for each patient and are generally worn 24/7 for up to 2 years. As a child or teen grows, a new garment must be fabricated. Generally, patients will have at least 2 garments per year.
